Registrars funded through the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) program have access to a range of training support payments and incentives while training towards Fellowship. These supports sit across three national and college-based payment frameworks:

The National Consistent Payments (NCP) framework was introduced by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (DoHDA) with an aim to reduce red tape, increase accountability, and transparency around GP training support payments for the registrars and to attract doctors into regional, rural and remote areas.
There's no need to apply for payments through the NCP framework. ACRRM assesses a registrars eligibility for payments each semester and Services Australia makes the payment to the registrar of behalf of the DoHDA.
Payments are pro-rata and tiered according to rurality based on the MMM classification of the registrar's training post.

Flexible Funds has been designed as part of the NCP framework to support AGPT funded registrars with the additional costs of participating in training in a rural or remote community.

From Semester 1, 2026 registrars enrolled in a Commonwealth-funded training pathway under the Australian General Practice Training Program (AGPT) or Remote Vocational Training Scheme (RVTS) may be eligible for the below incentives:
Salary incentive
A salary incentive for doctors when they commence their first core training term in community-based primary care (PCT1) from Semester 1, 2026 or later.
Study leave incentive
Up to 5 days of study leave incentive per training year, to study for and attend exams, and attend professional development activities.
Parental leave incentive
Up to 20 calendar weeks of parental leave incentive for eligible primary caregivers and 2 calendar weeks for eligible secondary caregivers. Includes births, adoption or long-term fostering of a child up to the age of 16.

To help registrars calculate payments they may be eligible for, the Rural Doctors Association of Australia (RDAA) has developed a a financial support calculator tool. The calculator provides a guide only to the maximum level of financial support available to rural and remote doctors, based on the search parameters and a full year.
