Your membership matters

When you renew your membership, you're backing the people, programs, and progress that keep rural, remote and First Nations healthcare strong.

Last year, you told us you wanted to see more ways to learn and connect, support where its need most and advocacy that gets results. Here’s what we’ve delivered for members in that time:

Advocacy that gets results

  • Rural Generalist Medicine approved by Health Ministers and now being assessed by AMC
  • Represented on 130+ committees across Australia
  • Advocated to consolidate and continue to grow the Rural Generalist pipeline
  • Ensure a sustainable practice environment for Rural Generalists
  • Ensure strong rural communities to support rural GPs, Rural Generalists and their families
  • Continuing to advocate for 500 registrar training places a year
  • Regular parliamentary and government submissions
  • Supported members during environmental crises

More ways to learn and connect

  • Established four new advanced specialised training (AST) conferences (obstetrics, anaesthetics, emergency and surgery)
  • Launched the Emerging Leaders Conference for new ACRRM Fellows to gain leadership skills
  • Launched the Supervisor Summit – a way for our valued supervisors to stay connected
  • Delivered 130 clinical training face-to-face courses across Australia
  • Launched four new courses Advanced Airway Skills, Rural Emergency Obstetrics Training (REOT), Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation and HEART
  • Delivered 18 digital health webinars with 2,000+ registrations and 1,000+ attendees
  • Launched 25 new ACRRM Online Learning courses
  • Released over 25 podcast episodes, surpassing 10,000 downloads and 4,000 listeners
  • Invested in updating and uplifting our systems and platforms

Support where you need it most

  • Regional training teams have grown to support the growing pool of registrars
  • Engagement officers in every region and new offices in Canberra and Hobart to improve opportunities for face-to-face engagement with members
  • Expanded the awards program, recognising more members in the regions
  • Newly developed Digital Health Standards and Guidelines to support quality telehealth and digital integration in rural and remote healthcare

Your member fees frozen

Your membership fee won't increase this year. That's a decision your Board has made deliberately, because they understand the pressures that Rural Generalists are already carrying – the economic pressures of practice, workforce shortages and the weight of being essential to communities that can’t afford to lose you.

Fees only go up when they genuinely have to. And, right now, they don't have to. Your leadership believes that earning your loyalty means making decisions that put your interests first.

So, we invite you to renew your membership at the 2025 rate to continue accessing your benefits.
