What does an ACRRM supervisor do?

Accredited Supervisors play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of Rural Generalists through the provision of clinical and educational supervision.

For more information on the role of the supervisor, refer to the Guide For Supervisors, or access additional resources from GPSA.

The level of supervision should be commensurate to the registrar’s skillset and stage of their educational journey. The following resources provide detailed guidance:

Information obtained during the clinical supervision processes should help to formulate individualised components of the educational supervision. The Guide For Supervisors provides evidence-based learning theories and practical tips on how to formulate a tailored education plan, optimising the learning experience.
Part of being a supervisor is the fulfilment of the role of a coach and mentor in the provision of pastoral care to ensure a safe, supportive work environment.

To assist you in the provision of pastoral care, ACRRM provides registrars free access to an Employee Assistance Program which provides immediate and confidential phone counselling support 24/7 in Australia and overseas.
