Why choose the Independent Pathway?

Independent Pathway offers you greater flexibility and input into planning your training.

Independent Pathway (IP) is a supported and flexible training pathway with a comprehensive and structured education program, developed and delivered by experienced Fellows of ACRRM.

IP enables you to work directly with ACRRM staff and Medical Educators to craft a training plan to suit your career goals, to negotiate your own training placement and manage your own learning experience. On the Independent Pathway, you are not restricted by Commonwealth funding requirements and policy.

The Independent Pathway provides:

  • Individualised case management from your dedicated Training Officer
  • Personalised guidance from your Medical Educator
  • A comprehensive and structured education program delivered online and face to face
  • A flexible, self-guided learning experience through facilitated online courses
  • Choose your own adventure and live, work, and train in amazing locations nationally
  • Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications are open all year round and each cohort has its own specific cut-off dates for applying. Ready to apply? Click the button in the banner above, or express interest in Independent Pathway to stay updated on key dates.
