The future leaders of rural healthcare take centre stage this October as Wadjemup (Rottnest Island) hosts the inaugural Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) Emerging Leaders Conference.
Funded by ACRRM, this initiative aims to nurture, develop and expand the leadership skills of Rural Generalist members who aspire to be strong voices within the College and for rural, remote, and First Nations healthcare.
ACRRM President Dr Rod Martin says this event is a significant opportunity to foster the next generation of leaders in Rural Generalist Medicine.
“A strong future needs strong leadership and this event aims to identify and cultivate the leaders of the future.” Dr Rod Martin says.
“With formal recognition of Rural Generalist medicine on the horizon, and increasing demand for these skills across Australia, we need strong, diverse voices ready to lead and advocate on behalf of the communities they serve.
“This conference is about equipping those leaders with the skills, knowledge, and networks they need to thrive.”
Applications will be reviewed by a selection panel with the College committed to building a strong national presence by including geographical guidelines.
More information on eligibility and the event can be found on the ACRRM website.
