About Andrew Jayawardena

Andrew recently joined ACRRM as a Training Program Advisor, bringing extensive experience in healthcare, medical education, and workforce development. Having migrated to Australia with his family, he is passionate about supporting doctors in training and strengthening healthcare outcomes in rural and remote communities across the Northern Territory. With more than a decade of experience in healthcare training and educational support, he is committed to helping clinicians grow in confidence, capability, and professional success.

A strong advocate for lifelong learning, Andrew has a particular interest in simulation-based education and innovative approaches to professional development. Through both his professional and personal connections to healthcare, he understands the challenges and rewards of medical training and looks forward to supporting registrars and Fellows throughout their journey toward Fellowship and rural clinical excellence.
