Dr John Kelly is a Rural Generalist working with a remote Aboriginal outstation service in Eastern Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, where he provides clinical leadership, telehealth support, and tele-supervision to outreach teams serving small homeland communities. With more than 12 years of experience in tele-supervision, Dr Kelly coordinates daily clinical decision-making, remote mentoring of GP trainees, nurses, and Aboriginal health workers, and facilitates patient care across vast distances using video, photographs, mobile platforms, and remote desktop technologies. His work focuses on delivering high-quality, sustainable, and culturally appropriate primary care in resource-limited settings, while supporting staff who travel by charter plane or 4WD to remote clinics. Dr Kelly’s interests lie in telehealth innovation, improving clinical training through remote supervision, and strengthening continuity of care for Aboriginal communities in some of Australia’s most isolated regions.
