Ingrid Wangel is a rural generalist (GP background) with dual fellowships FACCRM and FRACGP, and an advanced MBA through University of Adelaide. She has worked in metro and rural general practice, and in remote NT and SW Queensland in primary care and in hospitals, as a clinician and a supervisor/educator. Her roles have also included acting Director of Medical Services at Royal Darwin Hospital, Gove District Hospital, presiding member of WorkCover arbitration Medical Panels SA, and currently, Medical Clinical Advisor with WorkCover insurer Hospitality Industries Insurance (Hii). She is a Professional Review Services Panel member, and a member of the NSW Presumptive Cancer Claims Advisory Panel.
Her violin tends to chaperone her to whichever places she goes in NT and SW Queensland, which is handy for playing to the aged care facility residents. She enjoys a spot of spontaneous teaching whenever possible.
