About Amanda Brand

Amanda joined ACRRM on December 1st, 2025, and has a background in the nursing profession, since 1988.

She has worked in various types of nursing settings, including Hospital wards, surgical, renal, medical, day surgery, specialist outpatient clinics, and nursing home environments, and training in theatre and ICU; all areas worked beside interns, registrars, specialists and general practitioners. Besides hospital settings, she has also worked in community nursing, enabling the elderly and clients with disability to remain in their own home as long as possible, without early entry to institution-like care arrangements or large care homes. She has worked under NDIS in care delivery for disability and managed a supported independent living (SIL) house, which housed two NDIS clients. There have been many challenges and so much to learn and enjoy.

Her experience has been largely hands on type of care/work with some use of the electronic systems and data entry in the past. She has recently been focusing her attention on improving and updating her skills with IT and the new systems with ACRRM. The role is very exciting and challenging (we won't mention the "other" days), and Amanda feels privileged to be able to support the new future doctors reaching their milestones and goals. The achievement of becoming a Rural Generalist is an amazing accomplishment and it is fulfilling to be in the Training Program Assistant position to witness the journeys and make a substantial contribution to the backup for these admirable people and their training.

Amanda's role is all encompassing, delivering the many facets of ACRRM to the registrar. She is dedicated and is always eager to assist stakeholders. Taking on board many new processes and systems, she is dedicated to giving her best and diligently working on ever improving her skillsets.
