About A/Professor Eugene Wong

A/Professor Eugene Wong is a GP and Rural Generalist with advanced credentials in Anaesthesia and Retrieval Medicine. A respected medical educator and leader, he is Associate Professor at the University of Queensland and previously served as Director of Medical Services in rural and regional Queensland hospitals. Dr Wong has worked extensively across Queensland, including in the Torres Strait (Thursday Island), Cape York communities, Northwest Queensland with the RFDS, and in Bundaberg, Emerald, Rockhampton, Longreach, and the Darling Downs. He has had previous board director roles with the Remote Vocational Training Scheme (RVTS) and the Queensland Doctors Health Program. He advises for Digital Health startups and holds leadership and significant committee positions in Queensland Health, ACRRM, RACGP, RACMA and AIDH. Passionate about healthcare culture, leadership, innovation and doctor wellbeing, Eugene is particularly committed to supporting and advocating for doctors in training.
