Karen was born in Melbourne, moving to Darwin in 2000 where she met her husband and has raised two children. Karen has travelled across much of the Territory and is looking forward to connecting with current and future ACRRM members Territory wide. 

With a career across government (Territory and Commonwealth), not-for profit, and private industries, including First Nations run organisations,  Karen's skills lie in direct care work, customer service, adult education, human resources, frontline management, engagement, leadership and change management. 

Karen supports equitable service delivery in rural and remote locations and having lived and worked in the NT for over 25 years she understands how unique and diverse the Territory is. Karen's skills and ACRRM's passion for rural generalism supports Territorians, no matter their location, in accessing culturally safe medical services when they need to.

Outside of work Karen loves gardening, camping, fishing and spending time with her family, dog (English Staffy) and her chickens. She is also a volunteer athletics coach with Darwin Athletics club, supporting the Athletes with Disabilities program.
