About Dr Shaun Francis

Shaun began his career as a Rural Generalist after completing his medical degree at the University of Sydney and training with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM), undertaking advanced skills training in procedural obstetrics, and anaesthetics. After moving to Far North Queensland and working in the regions surrounding Cairns, Shaun joined the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) and provided fly-in-fly-out remote primary health care, telehealth and aeromedical retrieval. He is currently the General Manager of Virtual and Digital Health for RFDS Queensland Section and oversees the statewide Acute Telehealth Service, RFDS Medical Chest Program (telepharmacy), Health Informatics and Digital Health. Shaun is also the Vice Board Chair of the Australasian Institute of Digital Health (AIDH) and a fellow of the Learning Health System Academy of the Centre for Digital Transformation of Health at the University of Melbourne.
