What could $50,000 do to improve healthcare in your community?

The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM), is offering communities up to $50,000 through its new Rural and Remote Community Support Grant.

This initiative supports community-led projects that strengthen local healthcare delivery and directly support the recruitment and retention of doctors in rural, remote and First Nations communities.

Funding supports a wide range of initiatives that directly assist doctors to complete their ACRRM specialty training and to embed in rural communities. Project priority areas include:

  • Education and training: Initiatives that enhance supports for doctors, including remote supervision and PD opportunities, or family support such as childcare and assistance with schooling.
  • Recruitment and retention: Projects designed to attract and retain doctors, such as needs analyses, accommodation solutions, or community orientation programs.
  • First Nations community support: Initiatives that strengthen healthcare delivery, training, or workforce within Aboriginal Medical Services (AMS) or Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS).
  • University partnerships and training pathways: Collaborative efforts to support medical students and early-career doctors transitioning into ACRRM Rural Generalist training.
