Applications may be made for:

  • Reconsideration of a decision – The decision is considered by the group or individual responsible for the original decision
  • Review of a decision – The decision is considered by the group responsible for overseeing the original decision. This process is usually undertaken following a Reconsideration.
  • Appeals – The decision is considered by a specially-formed committee that includes external reviewers. This process is usually undertaken following a Review.

Decisions that may be considered include those related to:

  • Registrar assessment
  • Application for Fellowship training
  • International Medical Graduate assessment applications
  • ACRRM’s Professional Development Program and award of Certificates of Compliance
  • Accreditation of training organisations, supervisors and teaching posts
  • Financial status of members

Process

The decision is considered by the group or individual responsible for the original decision

    Submit Application
Submit an application through the ACRRM website providing any supporting information and specifying the requested outcome, within 28 days of receipt of notice of decision.

    Formal Consideration
Matter is formally considered by appropriate delegated authority.
  • 3
    Notification of Outcome
Applicant is notified in writing of the Reconsideration outcome.

Applicant may refer decision for further consideration by applying for Review within 28 days of receiving notice of Reconsideration outcome.

The decision is considered by the group responsible for overseeing the original decision.

Submit 'Review' application form to the ACRRM CEO, providing any additional material or information, within 28 days of receipt of notice of Reconsideration outcome or original decision.

Matter is formally considered by the appropriate overseeing body.

    Notification of Outcome
Applicant is notified in writing of the Review outcome.

Applicant may refer decision for further consideration by applying for Appeal within 28 days of receiving notice of Review outcome.

The decision is considered by a specially-formed committee that includes external reviewers.

Submit 'Appeal' application in writing to the ACRRM CEO within 28 days of receipt of notice of Review outcome or original decision.

Appeals Committee convened and appeal date notified to applicant.

    Applicant to submit materials for consideration
Applicant must submit all materials for consideration at least 14 days before the date of the appeal hearing.

Applicant notified in writing of the Appeal outcome within 3 weeks of the appeal hearing.

Appeal decision is final.
