The Lead Examiner manages examiners, question development, standard setting and exam quality assurance processes that underpin the CGT StAMPS assessment and support the assessment of registrars enrolled within the ACRRM CGT StAMPS assessment.  Following appointment, there will be a period of induction and handover with the current Lead Examiner for the remainder of 2025.

We are seeking two FACRRMs, as well as a Aboriginal &/or Torres Strait Islander member representative for the Selection Committee.

The Selection Committee aims to lead the planning of the College selection process and to contribute to its
implementation and evaluation. The College is committed to select and support the right doctors, in the right
places, with the right skills, providing rural and remote people with excellent health care.

As representative on the Selection Committee, you will provide direction and guidance as to the knowledge, skills
and abilities to be assessed through the College selection criteria and process. As part of the Committee, you will
ratify final selection results for the progression of training offers for College pathways.

ACRRM is seeking expressions of interest from Fellows who would like to become members of the Quality & Safety Council, which operates under the auspices of the Board and College Council.

The Quality & Safety Council plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of healthcare practice in rural and remote Australia. As an essential part of ACRRM’s clinical governance structure, the Council is dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and patient safety within the rural medical community. It achieves this through the development, review, implementation, and monitoring of quality and safety guidelines, standards, and practices tailored to the unique challenges faced in rural and remote settings.

The Council is composed of a diverse group of healthcare professionals who bring a wealth of experience and expertise in rural medicine, patient safety, and quality improvement. Their responsibilities include reviewing current healthcare practices, identifying potential areas for improvement, and recommending evidence-based strategies to enhance patient care. By promoting best practices and advocating for the integration of quality and safety principles into all aspects of rural healthcare delivery, the Council directly contributes to improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare disparities in underserved communities.

ACRRM is calling for EOIs from College FACRRMs to fill Medical Educator vacancies available in the VIC and QLD Training teams.

As part of the selection process, applicants complete a suitability assessment which addresses the ACRRM’s selection criteria. The College is committed to select and support the right doctors, in the right places, with the right skills, providing rural and remote people with excellent health care.

Who are we looking for?

To be eligible to be part of the marker team, the following criteria is to be met:

Experience in:

  • Registrar Progression
  • Training program support
    • Demonstrated understanding of ACRRM’s vision and mission
    • Demonstrated understanding of ACRRM training program requirement
    • Recognition of, and ability to describe, the health service needs of rural or remote regions.

As an ACRRM representative on the selection interview panel, you will be an active interview panel member, assess and review applicant interview responses and support the College to select applicant for entry into the Fellowship program based on the selection criteria.

The Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI) consist of six individual interviews conducted at separate stations. Applicants have two minutes to read a question before each interview and eight minutes to communicate the proposed course of action or ideas in relation to that question.  Interviewers include Fellows of ACRRM (FACRRM) along with representatives from the College and/or training organisations.

The role of the ACRRM representative is to be filled by a FACRRM.

As part of the selection process, applicants complete a suitability assessment which addresses the ACRRM’s selection criteria. The Selection Suitability Assessment Marker is to assess and score applicants’ responses. The College is committed to select and support the right doctors, in the right places, with the right skills, providing rural and remote people with excellent health care.

Who are we looking for?

To be eligible to be part of the marker team, the following criteria is to be met:

  1. Experience in candidate assessment practices
  2. Demonstrated understanding of ACRRM’s vision and mission
  3. Demonstrated understanding of ACRRM training program requirement
  4. Recognition of, and ability to describe, the health service needs of rural or remote regions.

Timeframe:

Markers are expected to commit to one or more marking periods throughout the year. Marking dates will be advised at least one month in advance.
