This month ACRRM received the findings of its annual report to the AMC on its Fellowship programs. The report commended the work of the College in a number of key areas and confirmed that ACRRM continues to substantially meet its accreditation standards. 

ACRRM has been awarded AMC accreditation to March 2028 in providing qualification as a specialist in general practice. This is subject to monitoring and meeting accreditation conditions managed through a program of annual reporting.

Highlights from the AMC findings of ACRRM’s 2024 report included:

  • ACRRM was found to be progressing toward meeting all of its nine remaining conditions.
  • ACRRM was congratulated on its new vision, values, and strategic intent and their explicit reference to First Nations communities.
  • Major new developments were noted including the review of governance and the constitution, further development of the Joint College Training Services (JCTS) framework and cultural safety training, and the establishment of the regional offices network.
  • ACRRM was commended for its approach to improving cultural safety training.
    ACRRM was also commended for its work to explore the appropriate training time requirements in general practice settings.
  • It was noted that the college is engaged in a major evaluation of its RG Fellowship Program and an associated revision of its Evaluation Framework and that these will be key drivers for future development. Their implementation by 2025 should see most remaining conditions met.
