Role Description

The Director position on the Board is appointed by the College Council. This vacancy has arisen due to a scheduled retirement. If you’re passionate about rural health and ready to contribute at a strategic level, we encourage you to nominate.

Appointments are made at the sole discretion of the College Council and are not subject to review.

For nominations to be considered valid they must comply with the following criteria:
  • Each Ordinary Member of the College is entitled to nominate one candidate only.
  • Nominations must be made in writing on the relevant Nomination Form provided (see the Explanatory Memorandum which outlines the process) and be signed by both the nominee and nominating member
  • The Nominee must also complete the Board Skills Matrix and sign and return the Consent to Act as Company Director form provided.

Role Description

As a state representative on the ACRRM College Council, you will play a key role in advocating for the interests and perspectives of members in your region. This includes contributing to the strategic direction and governance of the College, participating in Council discussions and decisions, and helping to ensure that the voice of rural and remote doctors in your state or territory is heard at a national level.

Elections will also be held to confirm the remaining period of the casual vacancy terms for Tasmania
and Western Australia representatives on the College Council (2025-2026).

For nominations to be considered valid they must comply with the following criteria:

  • Nominees for these positions must be financial Ordinary Members with a registered primary
    contact address with the College within the State or Territory for which they seek election.
  • Each Ordinary Member based in New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory is entitled
    to nominate one candidate only for election to the relevant position.
  • Nominations must be made in writing on the Nomination Form provided (see the Explanatory
  • Memorandum which outlines the process) and be signed by both the nominee and nominating
    member.
