Certificate In Primary Care Dermatology - Module 04 - Practical Procedures

This self-paced on-line module is one of 25 modules comprising the Certificate in Primary Care Dermatology. The module consists of 15 topics which cover a wide range of practical procedures used in the management of dermatological conditions. The procedures covered are: Cryotherapy; Intralesional Cortisone; Local Anaesthesia; Biopsy Techniques; Curettage and Cautery; Surgical anatomy and Danger zones; Sutures and Suturing; Elliptical Excisions; Full Thickness Skin Grafts; Split Thickness Skin Grafts; Principles of Flap Repairs; Regional Closures; Surgical Dressings; Surgical Complications and Treatments;and Non Surgical Treatments of Skin Cancer. Each topic provides an overview of the indications, techniques, advantages, disadvantages and risks for the procedure/treatment modality, and in most cases PowerPoint presentations and video footage of the procedures being undertaken. Participants are expected to have completed specific reading from a prescribed text prior to commencing each topic.
