Prevocational Programs provide opportunities for medical students and junior doctors to interact with ACRRM and experienced rural medical doctor mentors. ACRRM manages a number of Australian Government funded programs on behalf of the Department of Health and Ageing.
The John Flynn Placement Program currently provides for over 750 medical students to experience four placements of two weeks duration with a doctor mentor in rural and remote areas of Australia.
The Bonded Medical Places Student Support Scheme provides 1503 Bonded students with support, communication and networking opportunities, and access to online medical education resources via RRMEO.
The Medical Rural Bonded Scholarship Support Program provides funding and opportunities for 784 students to attend rural medicine oriented conferences, network with peers and liaise with rural doctor mentors. Students can also benefit from e-mentoring by medical experts via ACRRM’s online educational and networking platform, Rural and Remote Medical Education Online (RRMEO).
