Host a John Flynn medical student

The John Flynn Placement Program (JFPP) is an Australian Government funded initiative that encourages medical students to choose a career in rural medicine. The program is managed nationwide by the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.

Every year, 300 additional medical students are selected to join the program. Students live in rural communities for two weeks each year over four consecutive years. Their time is divided between clinical practice with local medical services, and getting to know the people and way of life.

Students who develop bonds and friendships within a community are more likely to return to that community (or a similar one) when they are qualified doctors.
