Rural and Remote Medical Education Online (RRMEO)

This world-first education and networking platform has been developed by ACRRMspecifically for rural doctors in training and in practice. It is a suite of powerfulelectronic tools that include:

  • Rural Clinical Guidelines (portable): The guidelines for PDAs are now available for download to Palm and Pocket PC operating systems, as well as Android, Blackberry, Symbian and iPhones. You may also view online from your computer or print copies.
  • Searchable Educational Inventory: locate educational opportunities, training posts, clinical attachments, and online resources 
  • Integrated learning planner: record all your educational activities towards fellowship, credentialing, vocational maintenance, and other reporting requirements
  • Learning management system (including virtual classroom) for real time interactive learning in your home community

Tele-Medicine services that will change the way you develop your expertise and exchange knowledge with peers. From anywhere you have internet access you can obtain expert advice from specialists in critical fields.
  • Tele-Derm: get a specialist opinion on your patients’ skin conditions in approximately two working days. We show you how.  
  • Radiology Online: get specialist feedback on interpreting X-rays to check a diagnosis, increase your knowledge.  
  • Tele-Tox: giving medical practitioners rapid access to Toxinology advice, diagnosis and managing envenomation in general practice.  
  • Retrieval Medicine: Each month the moderator of the Retrieval Medicine module posts up a case for you to comment on. Share your knowledge; build your capabilities and confidence.  
  • RRMEO Help Desk Services will talk you through set up, enrolment, using resources, downloading guidelines, and more.

You can contribute as an expert volunteer to ACRRM’s various committees and
consultative groups and help shape the future of rural medicine education, training,
and practice.
ACRRM advocates on behalf of members in a range of forums, collaborations and
partnerships. The College regularly engages with policy development, review and
reform agendas at a national level.
Professional Development Program
Fellows of the College are automatically registered in ACRRM’s Professional
Development Program to maintain Fellowship status, skills, vocational recognition, and
credentialing requirements. Registration in the program provides you with:
 Access to a personal Learning Planner to record all PDP activities.
 Access to your PDP points balance at any time during a triennium (via
RRMEO).
 PDP Update newsletters; access to ACRRM website (www.acrrm.org.au).
 Reporting to Medicare for vocational recognition purposes.
 Report to Joint Consultative Committees (JCC) for credentialing.
Rural Procedural Training Grants: The College is authorised by the Department of
Health and Ageing to process member’s claims for Rural Procedural Grants and
submit verified claims to Medicare for payment.
