The Certificate in Primary Care Dermatology — developed with the Australasian College of Dermatology — is specifically designed to provide General Practitioners with the latest training to diagnose and treat skin cancers and other common skin conditions.
This comprehensive and very flexible course is comprised of 25 modules:
- 23 online modules
- 2 practical modules (one procedural workshop, and one clinical attachment or experience).
You can enrol in, and pay for any of the online modules when you are ready to start each topic. Or, for a discounted fee, you can pay for all 23 online modules in advance (saving $1,200) and complete them at your pace over three years.
You pay for the practical modules (workshop or clinical experience) when you enrol for either.
Primary Care Dermatology dovetails with ACRRM’s internationally recognised telemedicine resource, Tele-Derm, which offers rural and remote GPs the free, expert opinion of nationally respected dermatologist and college Fellow, Dr Jim Muir. Funded by the Department of Health and Ageing, Tele-Derm gives GPs access to hundreds of online dermatological case studies, educational opportunities and discussion forums.
If you successfully complete all 25 modules you will be eligible for the ‘Certificate of Primary Care Dermatology’. The certificate is issued by ACRRM and accredited for continuing medical education points in the College’s Professional Development Program.

*Module 4 is also a pre-requisite for Module 5. If you enrol for both at the same time, the total fee for the two modules will be $2,500, a saving of $200.
** Because of the extreme shortage of dermatologists qualified to take trainees, you may be offered an alternative mode of training.
