Breast cancer: where do you see the knowledge gaps?

Cancer Australia is planning to develop more online learning modules dealing with breast cancer. These will be available on ACRRM's RRMEO platform. You can influence module development by nominating which topics you think should be given priority. Go to the one-minute questionnaire on the ACRRM website and nominate which of the topics listed are your highest priority. Your input will help ensure resources are well invested in this important project. Go to the questionnaire.

Are you registered for procedural grants (up to $26,000 pa)?

You can receive up to $26,000 in a financial year (1 July to 30 June) based on 10 days procedural and three days emergency medicine training at $2,000 per day. You must be registered with ACRRM before you attend an course in the relevant discipline: surgery, anaesthetics, obstetrics, and/or emergency medicine. Expedition medicine course takes you to the roof of the world: 1 to 14 April

Journey to Nepal for two weeks in April to complete a very special expedition medicine course. Conducted by the Wilderness Education Group, this is a highly practical course covering wilderness emergency response, expedition planning, high altitude medicine and cold injury, and a range of rescue techniques. It includes trekking into the stunning Annapurna Sanctuary. The course is accredited by ACRRM for 30 core and 30 PRPD points and for the EM procedural training grant. Rural Medicine Australia 2012: Fremantle WA, 26 to 28 October The conference this year will be preceded by one-day and two-day procedural workshops and feature the biannual scientific forum. Consider how the work you are doing can be turned into publishable research and presented at the Rural Medicine Australia 2012. Save the dates in your diary, allowing for pre-conference workshops and perhaps some post-conference touring.

One-day emergency medicine courses: Albany WA, 18 and 19 February One-day STEMI programs to be held in Albany WA next month will focus on the first 10 minutes of a catastrophic cardiac event, and the necessary resuscitation skills to manage.
