Election of Board - Community/Consumer Director

Call for nominations for position of Director on the College Board

The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine is pleased to invite nominations for consideration of appointment as Rural Community/Consumer Director on the College Board.

Nominations must be received by: 5pm on Monday 19 March 2018.

For nominations to be considered valid they must comply with the following criteria:

  • Each Ordinary Member of the College is entitled to nominate one candidate only.
  • Nominations must be made in writing on the Nomination Form provided and be signed by both the nominee and nominating member.

The College Board is a skills-based comprising directors who collectively have the skills, knowledge and experience to effectively govern and direct the organisation.

The skills and attributes required of directors can be broadly categorised as follows:

  • governance skills (i.e. skills directly relevant to performing the Board’s key functions);
  • industry skills (i.e. skills relevant to the industry or sector in which the organisation predominantly operates);
  • personal attributes or qualities that are generally considered desirable to be an effective director; and
  • have a broad understanding of the Australian health care system with particular regard to general practice, primary care and population health principles.

The Board as a whole should also encompass desirable diversity in aspects such as gender, age or different perspectives.

The College is seeking nominations for a new position, Director (Rural Community/Consumer).
