There have been a number of changes to ACRRM’s Assessment and Training Program for 2012. Below is a brief overview of the changes:
2012 Multi Source Feedback (MSF) Changes:
Registrars commencing their MSF in 2012 will now enrol directly through Client Focused Evaluations Program (CFEP) to undertake the MSF assessment. The requirement for MSF has changed from requiring “satisfactory performance” to “satisfactory completion”.
This requires submission to ACRRM of:
- a completed MSF report covering the two components;
- a completed reflective exercise; and
- evidence of discussion with a Medical Educator and remediation if required.
Registrars are eligible to enrol in the MSF after completing 12 months of training. The assessment is most suitable to be undertaken in a teaching post accredited for Primary Rural and Remote Training.
Please refer to the ACRRM Assessment Handbook for full details on the MSF assessment.
For enrolment please dowlnoad the MSF application form directly from CFEP at http://www.cfepsurveys.com.au/products/acrrm-doctors/
CFEP can be contacted by phone 07 3855 2093 or fax 07 3855 2093.
2012 miniCEX Assessment Changes:
Registrars commencing training from 2012 onwards are ‘required’ to undertake formative miniCEX of at least six consultations. Previously formative miniCEX was not required only encouraged. This should be undertaken prior to completing summative miniCEX, as this will provide familiarity with both the process and content of this assessment and assist in determining if ready for summative assessment. While formative miniCEX is not mandatory for other registrars it is strongly encouraged prior to attempting the summative miniCEX. Formative miniCEX forms are available below. ACRRM also has a RRMEO Module available to all registrars – ‘miniCEX Training Course for Clinicians’. Although this module is designed for ACRRM Clinicians it is also beneficial and available for registrars preparing for formative or summative miniCEX assessments. You can enrol in this module via your RRMEO account.
Formative miniCEX Process
ACRRM strongly encourages the formative miniCEX be undertaken prior to the summative miniCEX.
Primary Curriculum
- ACRRM will send formative miniCex forms to the registrar in their enrolment welcome pack.
- Registrar and Training Provider’s responsibility to arrange and complete required number of formative miniCEX assessments. Minimum of 6 consultations to be completed.
- Training Provider to record the date of completion of the formative miniCEX’s.
- Record of completion of miniCEX’s to be kept in the registrars training record.
- Must be submitted to ACRRM as part of the ‘completion of training’ requirements.
2012 miniCEX Enrolment Fee Change:
The college has revised its assesment fee structure for miniCEX to a single fee for all registrars. A standard fee will now apply to all registrars regardless of the location of their miniCEX assessment venue.
The new standard enrolment fee for 2013 will be $1,900.00
Please note all assessment fees are reviewed each calendar year.
